The Battles of Rasoolullaah – Strategic Islamic History & Lessons

Many books have been written over the years on the battles of Rasoolullaah g, but this book of Shaykh `Ali as-Sallaabi stands out for a number of reasons, including:

1) His emphasis on tahqeeq (verifying all of the narrations that he has added in his book, avoiding fabrications and unauthentic narrations), which gives the readers peace of mind that all of what they are reading is authentic.
2) Presenting the information in a clear, easy format to read, absorb and remember.
3) Explaining the lessons, wisdoms, benefits and even rulings that are derived from the Seerah of Rasoolullaah g and the Sahaabah h, and this is known as Fiqh-us-Seerah (The Understanding of the Seerah).

That is what sets this book of Shaykh Sallaabi apart from the other books written about the battles: whereas those books suffice with simply presenting the recorded information and narrations, Shaykh Sallaabi goes to great lengths to explain each and every event and to draw out the many lessons and wisdoms contained therein, and this gives the reader a more complete and in-depth understanding of the Seerah of Rasoolullaah g and Sahaabah-e-Kiraam h in general and their battles in particular, and it also allows this knowledge to become firmly entrenched in the minds and hearts of the readers.
For any Muslim wanting to learn about the Seerah of Rasoolullaah gand the battles that he led accompanied by his illustrious Sahaabah all of whom were like shining stars, this book is invaluable and is a most excellent and enjoyable read.
